Every time I pass by you, my heart aches. It's not because I'm in love with you or anything like that. It's just the way things are, I guess. It's like there's this pang in my chest that I can't explain, a feeling that I can't shake off no matter how hard I try.
Maybe it's because of the memories we shared once upon a time. You were my best friend, my confidante, my partner in crime. We had each other's backs through thick and thin, and we were there for each other when we needed it the most.
But then life happened, and we grew apart. I had to move on, and so did you. And now, when we see each other in passing, it's like we're strangers who never knew each other at all. It's like we've both moved on and forgot about each other.
But the thing is, I haven't forgotten about you. I still think about you from time to time, wondering how you're doing, and wishing I could reach out and say hello. But it never feels like the right time, and so I let the moment pass, like ships in the night.
Sometimes, I wonder what it would be like if things were different. If we hadn't drifted apart, and if we were still the same people we once were. Would we be friends again? Or would we be strangers forever doomed to walk past each other without saying a word?
It's strange how life works, isn't it? How the people we once thought we couldn't live without are now nothing more than distant memories that we hold onto. And yet, even in passing, there's something about seeing you that brings back all those old feelings.
Maybe one day we'll run into each other again, and we'll be able to catch up on all the years that have passed. We'll exchange stories about our lives, and we'll laugh about the silly things we used to do together. Maybe we'll even be able to rekindle that old spark, and become friends again.
Until then, I'll just keep walking past you, each time feeling that same ache in my heart. And with each passing, I'll whisper a silent hello, hoping that somehow, someway, you'll know that I'm still here, thinking of you.
